clarified that he is not supporting them just because they are Indians.
Kapil said, “I would like to see Venkatesh Prasad and Robin Singh (former India players) as coaches of the Indian team. Not because they are Indians but because they did a great job at the World Twenty20 in 2007.”
Gavaskar on the other hand voted for former India cricketer http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mohinder-c77564 Amarnath and said that he would have been a better choice because he could communicate in a more efficient manner with the players as compared to Fletcher.
He said that majority of the India players are comfortable with the Hindi language and this is the precise reason that Amarnath could have done well especially with the senior players.
“Someone like Amarnath would have been a better choice for the simple reason that the core of the Indian team today is from the Hindi-speaking belt. He would have got on brilliantly with this group as well as the seniors. It would have been a lot easier
for Amarnath to understand and interact with the players,” Gavaskar explained.
