Kapil Dev advises Dhoni to be aggressive as Captain during ICC World Cup

Cricket legend, Kapil Dev has advised Indian captain http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mahendra-Singh-Dhoni-c73820 to be aggressive during the ICC World Cup 2011.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Kapil-Dev-c70234, who was the captain of India’s 1983 World Cup winning squad, said he was disappointed with Dhoni’s batting in recent times. He noted that Dhoni’s batting was based on power-hitting during his early days, but has now become more restrained. He
said that he would like to see Dhoni back in his ruthless style.
“Today he nudges and pushes the ball more. With time one changes his style but the tempo should be maintained. I would love to see the old Dhoni in the World Cup," he said.
Commenting on the role of a captain, Kapil Dev said that he should be a strong role-model as a lot of youngsters look up to him in the team. He stressed that ‘aggressive captaincy’ helps the team members in getting motivated in different phases of the match
and also helps the captain to get the best out of his players.
Kapil Dev believes Dhoni is a good leader but has urged him to shrug off his ‘Mr Cool’ tag.
“Dhoni has all the traits of a good leader. He is bold and is not afraid of handling tricky situations,” Dev said about his captaincy.
He said the current Indian team has more capable players than what they had during their times. He believes the current Indian squad is a balanced one and had the ability of delivering an all round performance in the tournament.
Kapil Dev added that even if the Indian players fall short in the bowling and fielding department, they have a strong batting lineup to cover that weakness.
The mega-event start from 19 February 2011 and will be played in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Bangladesh-c747, giving the Subcontinent teams an advantage.
India have been tipped to be the favourites by former http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 cricketer, Imran Khan who led Pakistan to a World Cup triumph in 1992.
He has said that ‘India stands the best chance’ because of their all-around strength in batting and bowling
