Kapil Dev critical of Indian management after the England debacle – Cricket News Update
The world cup winning Indian captain, Kapil Dev, has said that the lack of co-ordination between the board, players and the team management, coupled with a hectic schedule, led to India’s recent humiliation in England.

on the ODI rankings.
The tourists faced a 0-4 whitewash in the four-match Test series, then lost the only Test and went on to lose the five-match One Day International series 0-3, two games being washed out by the rain.
One realistic reason behind India’s abysmal performance in England is the spate of injuries, as http://www.senore.com/Cricket/MS-Dhoni-c2028 lost eight key players during the two-month long tour to injuries at various stages.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Kapil-Dev-c70234 urged the Indian players to tell the Board of Control for Cricket in India that they cannot play cricket continuously for several months.
"The BCCI should understand that our players are not so fit, that they can play non-stop throughout the year,” said Dev in an interview with a leading Indian channel.
“Just a few months after the World Cup, so many of our players are injured which is a worrisome factor," he added further.
He said that if the BCCI and the players cannot figure out how much cricket the Indian team should play in a season, then the board should hire some experienced professionals to do this.
Dev, the former India pacer, also questioned the composition of the Indian team. He said that playing only four main bowlers in English conditions was quite unfair on part of the bowlers.
"How can you have just four bowlers bowling 90 overs in English conditions?” questioned Dev. Things were different earlier when you had http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sourav-Chandidas-Ganguly-c90746 chipping in and giving rest to the main bowlers.”
The 52-year-old former Indian all-rounder said that the BCCI selectors got carried away by the World Cup triumph and forgot to consider the playing conditions while finalising the squad for the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 tour, which not only cost India games but also some
key players including likes of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/I-Sharma-c1566.
