Karaoke or DJ?

I'm throwing an outdoor party. What would be better, a DJ or a professional Karaoke guy? It's on the beach with Tiki torches and all the decorations.

kareoke: if ur over 21 and people will get drunk it is SO funny seing drunks singing kareoke!

I'd go with a DJ. Most of your guests will probably find dancing more fun anyways.  With a professional choosing the songs instead of your friends their will be a greater crowd appeal and it will definitely run smoother.

depends, if your serving drinks, karaoke, and a video recorder, you'll get some great blackmail shots.

whats your age group?   maybe you can find a dj that works with a karaoke singer.  that way the guest will have time to warm up.

I think there are guys that do both. It takes people a while to warm up to Karaoke. They need to have a few drinks first so the first couple of hours could be awkward.

I'd go for a DJ...but how about a power source nearby?  Karaoke might be easier in that regard...
