  1. phone book you have to train to be good

  2. you need to join a club that teaches karate how's that?.....

  3. Phone book.

Call all the schools in your area.

    Never sign a contract.

    Never pay for rank testing.

    Take free classes before joining.

Ask to see their contact drills.

Make sure the school is clean and the people are respectful.

  4. Rhode Island? It depends on where in RI you are...

Tiger Schulmans is a mcdojo - stay away...

If you want Karate - this is the good stuff -

    Traditional Okinawan Karate-Uechi-Ryu Shohei-Ryu

34 Nooseneck Hill Road West Greenwich, RI 02817

    (401) 397-8980

As a Native Person myself, I would recommend Uechi Ryu.

The training is extremely good and they have a history of producing some of the most powerful karate practitioners in karate history. Not the tournament c**p... this is the real stuff.

It is not my style but I would definitely love to learn it. It is an Okinawan style which has some of the oldest kata originating in China.

This is another Uechi branch near Providence - check out the video... http://www.uechikarateschool.com/

    153 Weybosset Street, Providence 401-274-1600

  5. Short Term, Tiger Shulmans long term, Xhoulin Monks

  6. check your local YMCA, they should have all them things in one place and at a reasonable price too.
