Karel Abraham of Cardion AB Motoracing content with results at Valencia test – MotoGP news
Cardion AB Motoracing rider Karel Abraham is content with the results gained from the two-day post-race test session at Valencia, Spain.
The Czech rider ended up rookie season in 14th place in the MotoGP world championship. Following the season finale, he spent a couple of days in testing the Ducati GP12 at the Ricardo Tormo circuit, Valencia.
He posted tenth fastest time by the end of the initial day at the Valencia test. His best lap time on day one was 1 minute and 43.393 seconds. He completed the day with 61 laps.
Abraham said, “During the first few laps we solved most of the problems we had and then we tried many things and focused on the set-up of the motorcycle. I’m quite satisfied with the result of the Test, but I think I could have set an even better lap time.”
Coming to the second day of the test, he improved his lap times by making some changes in the setup. On the second day of the test, he lapped about a second faster than his previous best lap time.
Abraham’s best lap time on day two was 1 minute and 33.433 seconds that made him 1.626 seconds slower than the time sheet leader, Dani Pedrosa of Repsol Honda.
On the other side factory Ducati rider Valentino Rossi was also conducting an extensive test session to improve the Desmosedici GP12 built over full aluminium frame.
Meanwhile, teammate Nicky Hayden was resting due to an injured wrist from Valencia GP crash. Hayden’s part was played by Ducati test rider Franco Battaini.
The Czech rider added, “I spent most of the time on track in the morning and then I was quite tired in the afternoon, but I’m happy with the way I ended my first season in the premier class and now I’m looking forward to winter break.”
The Czech MotoGP rookie rider also helped the Ducati factory to get valuable technical data for further improvement.
Though he missed the rookie of the year title from Cal Crutchlow of Tech3 but he still feels pleased with his debut season in premier class. The Cardion AB rider took an eighth place finish in the season finale event held at Valencia.
