Karen Einsidler wins Women’s 1500m freestyle gold medal – 2012 Marriott USMS Summer Nationals
Karen L. Einsidler of AGUA won gold medal of the Women’s 1500m freestyle in the age category of 55-59 year old on first day of the 2012 Marriott USMS Summer Nationals at the CenturyLink Center Omaha on Thursday, July 5.
The 56-year-old Einsidler devastated hopes of her opponents in the thirty-lap event as she gathered the title of the event.
She remained prominent for the gold spot from the start of the race and hit the finishing blockade with a phenomenal timing of 20 minutes and 53.20 seconds for gold medal.
The champion was followed by Tracy L Grilli of NEM, who remained almost forty-six seconds slower from her foregoing finisher and tapped the finishing end with a nice effort of 21 minutes and 39.18 seconds for silver medal.
The second position holder was chased by Joan P Craffey of Agua, who secured bronze medal of the event by submitting a time of 22 minutes and 18.22 seconds.
Fourth position of the discipline was secured by Erin M Sullivan of NEBR, who stayed nearly twenty-four seconds apart and settled on the finishing end with the timing of 22 minutes and 42.03 seconds.
Next was the equivalent event in Women’s 60-64 years old category, where Karen Bierwert of NEM snared gold medal of the event with the timing of 22 minutes and 54.22 seconds.
The 60-year-old Bierwert stayed almost one second faster from her subsequent rival, Dorothy M Tourtual of BUMS, who reached the medal rostrum for silver medal by producing a time of 24 minutes and 00.95 seconds.
The second position holder was chased by Carolyn B Lyman of UTAH, who remained 39.60 seconds slower from overwhelming her former finisher and tapped the wall with the timing of 24 minutes and 40.57 seconds.
Fourth position of the event was secured by Alta F Stengel of SDSM, who stayed significantly behind Lyman and clocked a timing of 27 minutes and 56.31 seconds.
In addition, Einsidler was pleased with her smothering efforts in the 1500m discipline and said that she will train harder to impress her supporters at the forthcoming swimming championships.
