Karim Benzema asserts his commitment to Real Madrid
Karim Benzema has assured that he is dedicated to Real Madrid and is confident he will prove his critics wrong in the time to come. Benzema completed his transfer from French side Lyon in the summer of last year, at a cost of 35
million €.
Benzema though, has not been able to live up to his hefty price tag, and has been in and out of The White’s starting lineup. With the departure of Manuel Pellegrini as Real’s coach, Benzema hoped to impress his new coach Jose Mourinho.
But the 22 year old Frenchman has failed to catch the eye of ‘the special one’, managing only six starts and scoring only a single goal.
Although Real’s no.9 is facing a hard time at the Bernabeu, he is upbeat about breaking into the first team and reproducing his form he showed at his former club. Some rumors relate Benzema’s inconsistent start to personal differences
between the striker and the Portuguese coach, but the French international has denied any such reports. Benzema believes he can impress Mourinho through hardwork, and that the manager is helping him in returning to top form.
He said, “Mourinho is a great coach and he has faith in me. He has told me that I need to run more. All the talking I do is on the pitch.”
Moreover, Wayne Rooney’s drama at Manchester United last week sparked news about a possible switch for Benzema to the Red Devils. Sir Alex Ferguson is a fan of the 22 year old, striker, and in the past has tried to land the 22
year old French striker at Old Trafford. Nonetheless, with the Rooney saga over and the English ace agreeing to a new 5 year deal with Manchester United, Karim has no choice but to continue and improve at Real Madrid.
Karim has revealed that he is utterly committed to Real Madrid’s cause, and has stated that the club has a special spot in his heart. “All I ever dreamed about since I was 17 was playing for Real Madrid, so my signing day was very
special.
I feel much more integrated now. I love Madrid, but my favourite spot is the Santiago Bernabeu.”
Benzema has all the ingredients of being a successful striker, and can surely prove his worth for the Los Blancos if given some playing time. Jose Mourinho might give his out-of-form striker, a start against Racing Santander on
Saturday night.
