His comments come ahead of the draw for the last eight stage of the competition, which are
scheduled to be held on Friday in Nyon.
Los Blancos defeated Lyon 3-0 at home to qualify for the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League for the first time in seven seasons with an aggregate of 4-1. Meanwhile, Schalke knocked out http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Valencia-c40863 with a 4-2 aggregate score line.
Benzema said that a match against Schalke would be a perfect tribute to the veteran Raul, as this season could be the Spaniard’s last one in Europe, since Schalke are struggling in the Bundesliga and look unlikely to finish in the top four.
The Frenchman told reporters, “I would prefer to meet Schalke in the quarter-finals. That would be a great homecoming for Raul.”
The Champions League though was not the only thing on the strikers mind. Benzema also had an eye on Madrid's upcoming La Liga clash against Atletico Madrid, and said that he would love to score in the game and lead his team to victory. However, the former
Lyon man insisted that a win would not come easy, as their city rivals have some very good players in their ranks namely Sergio Aguero and Diego Forlan.
The Frenchman still believes the Los Blancos can win all three titles this season and is hoping to get some silverware as the season nears its end. The 23-year old has been in sublime form recently and has scored a spectacular nine goals in his last seven games. He has scored an impressive 20 goals in a total of 39 appearances for the Madrid giants this season after struggling in his debut season last
year.
