The French ace praised Higuain who completed the 2011/12 season with 26 goals to boast off, as a player of exceptional talent who should continue to be a part of the roster.
"He is still a player of Madrid, he is a good player and I hope that he will stay with us," the prolific attacker said while talking to press reporters.
Benzema also took out time to talk about Jose Mourinho’s contract extension. He hailed that the Special One is the best manager in the world as he adds an extra dimension to the teams he coaches.
"I'm happy Mourinho is staying on because he is the best coach in the world. He's given us things we lacked, and we improved and won the league title thanks to him," Benzema was quoted as saying on the club's official website.

The former Olympique Lyon player did not respond to questions about the beginning of an era where Los Blancos’ will dominate but revealed that they will not stop improving themselves.
"Barca are always a great side, but we are not thinking about them, we focus on ourselves," Benzema noted.
"I do not know if they are at an end of a cycle, but we will have to keep improving."
