Karim Benzema wants to play along Samir Nasri
Arsenal during their previous season were lacking the “spark” that they needed inside the 18 yard box. Robin Van Persie was the man that was missing out in the attacking line-up of the English Club because of his injury that he suffered during the early season matches.
Robin Van Persie was the main asset of the English side as he and Bendtner were the ones who combined together to score goals. The first match that Arsenal played in the previous season, they won it 4-0 and impressed all the fans watching. Many thought that it could be Arsenal’s time but injuries took them down as Chelsea and Manchester United out-ran the London club.
With Van Persie out and Arshavin also not being consistent, Arsenal did not have too much of a chance in the league. Later on, Fabregas also took an injury and after the club’s captain was “retired hurt,” the club could not really live up to its expectations throughout the previous season as they drew a few late season matches to end up at the third spot of the English Premier League.
The club’s manager, Arsene Wenger is always criticized for not recruiting many players and also playing a very young side. However, Wenger does go along well with these youngsters as he is still managing to keep the team in the “top 4,” even though there is so much competition in the English Premier League. With clubs like Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspurs and Aston Villa trying to shine; they give a tough time to the top 4 and just because of this, Liverpool was not able to make it to the top 4 as Tottenham Hotspurs replaced them during the previous season.
During the pre-season, Arsenal has already suffered from 2 injuries and there is a possibility that there are going to be more. As their striker, Eduardo has left the club and there are not many strikers that can replace Robin Van Persie, Arsenal does need a striker in the squad no matter how much Arsene Wenger thinks his team can survive without one.
Robin Van Persie just had a disappointed end to the FIFA World Cup 2010 and it is going to take a little time for him to recover from a loss that he suffered against Spain in the final match of the tournament. Arsene Wenger might realise it at this point that he needs a striker that can be assisted by his amazing midfield that includes their captain Cesc Fabregas, for the time being (as the Spanish midfielder is still in link with the Spanish club, Barcelona). The wingers of the English club are also good at what they do; Samir Nasri and Arshavin have been pretty good during the last season, although Arshavin has not been too consistent in his performance. Nasri on the other hand, is still playing for the club as a perfect winger and can help a new striker score more goals for the English side.
The Real Madrid star and the Frenchman, Karim Benzema has been reported to have said that he wants to play along the French play maker Samir Nasri. Nasri and Benzema, both, were left out from the French squad in the FIFA World Cup 2010; as the French side suffered a huge blow in the tournament. The European team was paired up with Mexico, Uruguay and South Africa; and they did not even manage to win one match and they were knocked out in the first round.
Karim Benzema and Samir Nasri, both, were left out even though Nasri had an amazing season at Arsenal; therefore, Benzema holds great respect for the Arsenal Star. Karim Benzema, on the other hand, did not get too much “field-time,” in Real Madrid as the Argentinean striker, Gonzalo Higuain, kept on impressing the Spanish side and played as a proper first team player. Karim Benzema barely got his feet in the field and the French star is definitely disappointed with his new club which he joined in the previous season.
An addition of Karim Benzema in Arsenal is definitely going to be huge. With another French player in the squad, it is going to be easier for Wenger to connect with the players and Benzema is a pretty good striker and has the ability to score great goals. There are many who compare him to Zinedine Zidane but he does not really like the idea as he says that he is a striker and not a midfielder like Zizu. The combo of Benzema, Arshavin and Nasri is definitely going to be unstoppable and Wenger should definitely take notice of the statement the French star made.
