Karl Dickson extends contract at Harlequins
Karl Dickson has extended his contract at Harlequins by two years, which will keep him at the club until 2013.
The 28-year-old fly half signed for the club from Bedford in 2009. He's made only 21 appearances for Harlequins but says there is no other club that he wants to spend his future with.
"I came to Quins because I wanted to prove myself at this level and become the best possible player I can.
Quins has offered me a great environment in which to do this, and I am enjoying being involved with such a friendly club, where everyone is happy and positive," said Dickson.
There are big positives from this news for the club. Dickson is a quality cover player who will have a deep determination to prove that he deserves to be at one of the
best rugby clubs in England.
Big positives
Dickson is a very ambitious and hungry player. No one could have blamed the fly-half for seeking a move away from the club. He seems intent on increasing the number of
appearances he's made for Harlequins substantially.
He's a very strong and powerful player. His character allows him to compete in the middle of the pitch against some aggressive sides. His kicking is also good enough to
effectively do this role if the club desires.
Dickson can get very emotional during games and this is a good aspect to his game. He shouts and rallies his teammates to keep them organised and to get them playing better
rugby.
"The competition with Danny Care [who has also extended his contract for another
two years] helps both of us players and hopefully I can push him as much as possible and make him a better player," he added.
Betting advice
Harlequins is a safe bet for a club that will make the top four by the end of the season. Don't read too much into the club's current seventh place. Dickson will have a big role
to play over the season. He can score a lot of points in any game so back him to do so.
