Karl-Heinz Rummenigge: Bayern Munich must not take Napoli lightly - UCL News
Fresh from a 4-0 win at home to Nurnberg in the Bundesliga, Bayern Munich now prepare themselves for the Champions League tie at home against Napoli.
Bayern president, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, has already warned his side of Napoli’s threat, urging them to stay focused and composed.
The president reinstated his desire of beating Napoli at Allianz-Arena in order to march closer to the next round. He thought that the Reds are capable of beating any side this season and shouldn’t have any difficulties in beating the Italian outfit while
playing at home.
Rummenigge, though, expressed concerns over the expected complacency that might come to Bayern’s game on Wednesday. He urged his players not to underestimate Napoli’s credentials despite being at home.
Bayern played a 1-1 draw at Stadio San Paolo on their visit to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Italy-c2926 during the first leg of their Group A game. This was also the first time in this year’s competition that the Bavarian giants lost any points, having beaten Villarreal and Manchester City
previously.
While talking to Sport Italia, the 56-year-old Rummenigge further added, "We respect http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003, who have a very lively squad, capable of causing us problems. We should be focused and we know it will not be easy to play against them, we want to win to get closer
to the Round of 16. At the San Paolo, Napoli gave us a hard time, they are not an opponent to underestimate."
The president also congratulated Bayern on registering a thumping 4-0 win over their Bavarian rivals on Saturday. Mario Gomez grabbed a brace for the home side, while http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Bastian-Schweinsteiger-c7374 and Franck Ribery also found the net to complete an easy win.
This win has enabled Bayern to maintain their dominance in the Bundesliga and currently stand four points clear of second placed Schalke.
Jupp Heynckes’ side are also leading the Champions League Group A with seven points from three games and will host Napoli on Wednesday, November 2. The Blues, on the other hand, are lying second with five points.
The Bundesliga giants will return to league action on Sunday, November 6, against FC Augsburg.
