Karl-Heinz Rummenigge hails amazing Pep Guardiola – Football News
Bayern Munich chairman, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, has hailed new manager Pep Guardiola ahead of the start of the new season. He admitted that the tactician has breathed a new spirit into the squad and is confident that the Reds will do very well throughout the course of the next season.
Rummenigge stated that the players are extremely motivated and Guardiola deserves all the credit for this. He stated that the manager has worked extremely hard with the group over the last few weeks and the results will definitely show in the next campaign.
“I've seen the incredible energy Pep puts in. It makes me want to go out there and join in myself! He has fantastic ideas, but he's also a meticulous hard worker. Nothing happens by chance, every last detail is planned,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
The former German international stated that it has happened previously with Bayern that the team tends to take it easy after a brilliant season. However, the chief admitted that will not be the case this season as there is great competition in the squad.
“When you've had such great success, you're naturally inclined to take it a little easier - and that's an immediate step backwards. Thanks to the high quality in the squad, none of them can take it easy,” he continued.
On the other hand, the chairman praised new signing Thiago Alcantara. He stated that the midfielder is a complete player with great potential to shine in the future. He added that Guardiola wanted to sign the player and the club has seen the reason why.
Rummenigge is expecting a lot from the player in the next season as there is competition for places in every position.
“You can see he's a complete player. He has exceptionally good technique, and he's completely taken on board our tactics, partly due to the fact he's already worked under Pep,” he concluded.
Bayern Munich won the treble last season under then manager Jupp Heynckes. The club signed Pep Guardiola as a replacement in the summer and have made two signings, Mario Gotze and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Thiago-c34888 Alcantara.
