Karl-Heinz Rummenigge insists new manager Jupp Heynckes will make full use of the squad
Bayern Munich Chief Executive, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, has insisted that the incoming manager, Jupp Heynckes, will utilise the full squad next season and will use a rotational policy to make sure all the players remain fresh. He revealed that this strategy
will keep all the players motivated and give the squad the opportunity to prove themselves.
Heynckes had a sensational campaign with Bayer Leverkusen last season as the Factory Squad finished runners-up in the Bundesliga with 68 points, improving from their fourth place finish prior to last term. The German had agreed a pre-season contract with
Bayern Munich and will join the Munich giants in July this year.
Rummenigge claimed that Heynckes has a different style to former coach, Louis van Gaal, and he wants all the players in the squad to be involved throughout the season. He stated that the manager will use all the players in different competitions so that
every member of the squad gets playing time.
“Jupp has a different style. He will look to use the best 16 to 17 players regularly. Players who do not play a Champions League game will then play in the next Bundesliga fixture,” the CEO was quoted as saying in an interview to the official club website.
The chief stated that the rotational policy would also improve the team spirit as many players complained of less playing time last season. He quoted the example of Turkish International, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Real-c30728
Madrid as he felt he was not in the future plans of the club.
“There will be three positives to the system as the players will be fresh, very motivated and it should also improve team spirit. That was the problem of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Anatoliy-Tymoshchuk-c5539 and Hamit Altintop this season, they did not feel like they belonged to the squad,”
he concluded.
The Munich giants hope to return to the top after a dismal season which saw Borussia Dortmund winning the Bundesliga title. Heynckes aims to make crucial signings in the summer and improve the current squad.
