The Bayern Munich chairman has insisted that his side has a wonderful chance of progressing through to the final of the competition.
The Bavarian giants have a 2-1 lead from the first-leg and will go into the second fixture with a one-goal advantage over Jose Mourinho’s side. Franck Ribery and Mario Gomez scored for the German outfit in the first-leg whereas
Mesut Ozil found the net for the Spanish league leaders.
Rummenigge claimed that Bayern have had a sensational season thus far in Europe and admitted that his team thoroughly deserves to be in the semi-final of the competition. He added that it is a great achievement for the team to
reach the last four of the Champions and is hopeful that the Reds go onto play in the final at home.
The chief is looking forward to his team playing in the final at the Allianz Arena and is confident of achieving the feat of playing the final at home, which has never been done before. The final will be played next month at the
Allianz Arena and Bayern have a great chance of taking part in the fixture.
“It's been a wonderful Champions League season for us so far. Reaching the semi-finals is already an achievement. Now we'll try and realise our fans’ greatest dream. No team has ever done it before, even the greats like http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604
and Real Madrid,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
On the other hand, the former Bavarian insisted that his side will play their natural game and will not turn the defensive mode on after getting a 2-1 lead in the first-leg. He claimed that the team will have to take hold of the
chances coming their way in order to be successful.
“We have huge respect, and we go there with a hint of humility but we want to get at them from time to time in attack,” he concluded.
 Bayern Munich still have a chance to win a double comprising of the UEFA Champions League and the DFB-Pokal. The team will play rivals Borussia Dortmund in the final of the German Cup next month.
