  1. hmm...well I sitting here trying to figure out which one of the Marx brothers was closer to sanity...but I know it wasn't Karl....maybe Groucho!..and what's this amazing fixation that Karl Marx is someone to hold up as some sort of social icon?? Get your head out of Hannah Montannas butt and read some history for criminy sakes!!

  2. ??

  3. Marxist... haha Obama

  4. i personally don't agree with karl marx's assessment of religion but i can see why he said it. it must have been very frustrating for such a logical man to have to deal with people, who no matter what he said to them, argued faith. I think that if the base of your argument is always faith then you're a bigot. poor misguided karl marx.

  5. can we say....if this question says the truth...that is...people have really been and really...still are being befooled by politicians embarked on religion....the public is a bunch of fools?????????????

is it that the public hasn't read karl marx whereas the politicians have done so and are making full use of marx's text whereas the ignorant public have overlooked this text which spells out the mystery behind politics' success???? i guess this question and the enquirer should give it a second thought! because we all aren't ignorant fools.....and all politicians are not hypocritically marxists....exceptions are galore!!!!!!!

    watrch out!

  6. I do not agree with Karl Marx's' thought process on this subject.

  7. Religion and politic can not be separated. Across the century, major religion started as spirituality ideological fraction, since they adding divine entity into their view than it's turn out become religion. As religion they have many follower which is devoted and willing to bet their life into it. I would say religion & politic are either symbiosis mutualism or parasitism but it can't be separated.

Emperor Constantine looking for a pantheon that could win his people, those pantheon must be so powerful that could beat the native divine entity, his choose drop in Christianity but he has to arrange and upgrade this Christianity so it will way surpassing local divine entity. For those he determined to  eliminate Gospel of Thomas from bible which is describe Jesus as less divine and Jesus follower happily eat this because they see this is good for Christianity development.

Muhammad, gain a follower using Gabriel angel as a messenger from his pantheon. After he gain follower he launch a strike against what he call evil/kafir/murtad, blood shed everywhere. So it's politic, it's about ideology and defending it, fight for it.

Even Jehovah's witnesses that so called do not vote. They could be called silent majority, but they still holding their political view as silent majority. As Jesus follower at early century, they also a silent majority, once they got a golden opportunity and gain people power, they turn out playing their own politic influencing governmental affair gaining strongest political power.

But I still do not agree with Carl Marx I said unwise statement. Religion is like a weapon, destructive or constructive  it's depend on the wisdom of the one applying it.

  8. Religion, as Karl Marx would probably attest to, is mind control and alike with politicians, they use religion as a byproduct to order to further their own agenda as mind control. There is no separation between religion and politics.

  9. Not anymore, reliogion its exploting politicians.

  10. Everyone takes this quote out of context. Here's the complete version:

Religious distress is at the same time the expression of real distress and the protest against real distress. Religion is the sigh of the oppressed creature, the heart of a heartless world, just as it is the spirit of a spiritless situation. It is the opium of the people. The abolition of religion as the illusory happiness of the people is required for their real happiness. The demand to give up the illusion about its condition is the demand to give up a condition which needs illusions.

Karl Marx, Critique of Hegel’s Philosophy of Right

I hate it when people call themselves socialists and communists and don't even bother to read the literature.

  11. Cannot. The crusade's still on.
