Karnataka State Ranking Badminton Tournament: Amogh Gupta R easily grabbed Boy’s Singles U13 title
Amogh Gupta R, one of the best junior players in India, made his presence strongly felt as he displayed his lofty craft on the final day and secured Boy’s Singles U13 title at the Belgaum 3 Star Karnataka State Ranking Badminton Tournament 2012 on Tuesday,
September 4, in India.
The spirited Amogh was on a different level in the final battle and he remained successful in crushing his opponent Shantanu B S in an authoritative manner.
The impressive Amogh, the top seeded shuttler in Boy’s Singles U13 main draw of the event, did not lose even a single game throughout the tournament and continued his killing run in the final battle and claimed the crown in a convincing fashion.
Amogh played positive and fast game in the final match and remained in complete control all the way. He did not lose his focus and maintained his upper hand over Shantanu throughout the battle and ended it up in just 20 minutes with a dominating score on
the board.
On the other hand, the second seeded Shantanu tried his best to continue his positive and winning performance in the final match but he had no answer to the speed and perfection of his rival and eventually bowed down to Amogh in straight games.
The opening set was interesting when both young shuttlers played attacking badminton but Amogh took over the control by working well at net and remained ahead on the board until the mid-game break.
After the interval, Amogh continued showing his remarkable skills on court as he maintained his upper hand over his lower ranked team-mate and easily bagged the first set with a tremendous 21-14 score on the board.
In the second set, Shantanu also played better badminton as he showed aggression and managed to remain close to his top seeded opponent until the one-minute break.
In the concluding half of second set, Amogh played dominating badminton while taking the bird early from all areas and ended up the game with a considerable margin of 21-17.
The higher ranked Amogh easily won the crown by finishing off the final battle in straight sets with a striking score of 21-14 and 21-17.
