Karnataka State Ranking Badminton Tournament: Anish Upadhaye–Yash Lad claim Boy’s Doubles U17 title
The spirited Anish Upadhaye and Yash Lad, who are emerging shuttlers from India, played to their maximum potential and remained successful in winning the Boy’s Doubles U17 title at the Belgaum 3 Star Karnataka State Ranking Badminton Tournament 2012 on Tuesday,
September 4, in India.
The fourth seeded Anish and Yash proved their elevated skills by beating their higher ranked opponents Chethan Raj and Raghu M in the final battle of the tournament.
The lower ranked Anish and Yash showed a great performance on court as they did not face any trouble in winning the final battle as they outplayed their second seeded challengers in straight sets by taking just 27 minutes.
On the other hand, Chethan and Raghu failed to stretch their impressive performance in the final battle as they could not create pressure on their opponents and remained unable to take even a single set.
Right from the opening points, Anish and Yash played dominating badminton by keeping the pace of rallies at the highest level and they took a reasonable lead at the early stage of first set.
In the meanwhile, the second seeded Chethan and Raghu tried their best to take charge of rallies but they failed to play positive game and remained trailing until the end of opening half.
After the mid-game interval, the impressive Anish and Yash continued their positive and aggressive run on court as they remained consisted in their attacking play.
At the concluding phase of opening set, Anish and Yash played with confidence and took the game with a four-point advantage by putting up 21-17 score on the board.
In the following set, the underdogs Anish and Yash showed a tremendous performance on court as they played killing game without showing any mercy to their rivals and took a wonderful lead in opening half.
The in-form Anish and Yash continued their elevated play after the mid-game interval in second set and they remained successful in winding up the second game with an incredible 21-8 score on the board.
The passionate Anish and Yash won the crown by finishing off the final match with a striking margin of 21-17 and 21-8.
