Karoly Balzsay to defend his WBA super middleweight gold against Dimitri Sartison - Boxing news
Karoly Balzsay, the current WBA world super middleweight champion, will defend his title against Dimitri Sartison, the current number one contender and former WBA world super middleweight champion, in a 12-round bout which will be the main event of the pay-per-view
by Universum.
The event will also witness Jurgen Brahmer, the former world light heavyweight, Marcel Meyerdiercks, and Juan Carlos Gomez, the former cruiserweight champion, in action. The extravaganza will be set at Sport and Congress Center situated in Schwerin, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern,
Germany on April 21, 2012.
Karoly, the Hungarian southpaw has been in a total 26 bouts and has lost just two brawls. He has collected 17 of his total 24 wins by knocking out his opponent cold. The kayo ratio of the 32-year-old is bit impressive as compared to Dimitri that is 65.38%.
Infamous as the ‘Hitter’, Karoly grabbed the WBA world super middleweight title from Stanyslav Kashtanov through a split decision.
Dimitri, on the contrary, has been in a total 30 brawls and has come out victorious in 29. He has lost just one bout against Mikkel Kessler and missing his career's first golden opportunity to put his hands on the WBA super middleweight gold. Since then
the 32-year-old is on a winning streak and not only won the vacant WBA world super middleweight gold but also retained it against Stjepan Bozic.
Dimitri is Germany’s number three and overshadows his current opponent Balzsay who though is Hungary’s number one yet resides at 39th position in world rankings. Both men are almost equal when it comes to their abilities.
The Hungarian pride has won many other titles and has a very good knock out ability if only he is able to place powerful and lethal punches at the appropriate time he might be able to retain his gold in his careers first title defence. On the other hand,
Dimitri will try his level best to take the home advantage and win the bout in order to take back what rightfully belongs to him.
Impressive fists with timely footwork will be the only aspect that can help the left-hooker resist and stay inside the ring in order to collect a unanimous win. Dimitri is coming from a kayo win over Carlos Caicedo and will try to break Karoly’s win streak
in addition to relinquishing the Hungarian from his gold. The opponents of the remaining three men are still to be decided and the pay-per-view will be put forth the media in detail soon.
