Karrie Webb finally in a "refreshed frame of mind"
Australian Karrie Webb is hoping that a “better attitude” this year will help her snap out of a months-long slump that has seen her play worse than her average in some of the recent tournaments
in the 2012 season.
The star golfer shared her thoughts during the Sime Darby LPGA Malaysia 2012, held at the Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club, saying she is not fully satisfied with her performance in the
current season but it has been less hectic than the last year.
Despite having won two tournaments early in the 2011 season, which saw her grab titles at HSBC Women’s Champions in February and RR Donnelley LPGA Founders Cup in March, Webb said that she
is currently feeling more relieved now as the 2012 season is coming to a close.
“Well, I wanted to improve from last year because I didn't play very well.  Just in a different frame of mind this time around.  I've just been back in Australia for two and a half weeks,
visiting family and stuff,” said Webb who turned professional in 1994 and has also proved her mettle on the ALPGA ( Australian Ladies Professional Golf Association) Tour by winning eleven events.
“I think I came in with a bit more refreshed frame of mind.  I think last year I was quite tired at this time of the year.  The game didn't feel great, so I didn't have a very good attitude
as to getting in there and playing well,” the 37-year-old said.
“Just a better attitude this year”.

With plenty of support and appreciation by her side, Webb took part in almost every big tournament in the 2012 season and tried her best to play up to her potential, but the weary golfer often
complained about mental fatigue and restlessness.
Although not as strong a contender as current world number one Yani Tseng or Stacy Lewis who is currently the best player in the United States, Webb still stands taller than most of the LPGA
stars thanks to her resilience and a stunning profile.
When it comes to fame game, Webb certainly loses to some of the noticeable names such as Suzann Pettersen of Norway, American Michelle Wie and Natalie Gulbis, but her claim to fame has mostly
been her down-to-earth character and a stellar profile that boasts 38 LPGA victories including seven major titles.
Webb’s fans still remember when she grabbed the headlines after finishing off the 2006 season in a grand style. The Aussie golfer was coming off a winless season in the year 2005, which, instead
of demoralising her, motivated her and she put herself to the limit in the 2006 season, winning five tournaments.
Her notable performance in the current season was recorded at the Ricoh Women’s British Open 2012 where she shot an overall score of 291 to tie for the fifth position on the leaderboard.
