Karrie Webb to grace Volvik RACV Ladies Masters 2013
Australian Karrie Webb, who has long graced the LPGA (Ladies Professional Golf Association) Tour, has decided to shift her focus to the LET (Ladies European Tour) as she is gearing up for
the 2013 season.
Webb has confirmed her commitment to take part in first LET event—the Volvik RACV Ladies Masters, scheduled to be played from February 1-3, at the RACV Royal Pines Resort, Queensland, Australia.
“I am very pleased that I am returning to RACV Royal Pines where I have so many great memories in the past,” Webb said while speaking to the media during her latest interview this Thursday.
She said that she had long wanted to return to the Tour, but had not got around to doing anything about it because of hectic LPGA schedule.
Webb went on to say that her fans in Australia are going to get behind her at the tournament, which is quite encouraging.
"My nieces and nephews will be joining me so I look forward to some good golf and time on the beach on the beautiful Gold Coast and all that it has to offer".
Starting off on the home event is sure to give Webb fresh exposure on the European Tour, and the experienced golfer has often spoken of her ambitions to continue playing professional golf.

The format of Volvik RACV Ladies Masters has been changed to three rounds, which Webb thinks is going to favour veterans like herself.
Webb joined the LET back in 1994 and played her rookie season next year, winning the Weetabix Women’s British Open. However, the Aussie star soon joined the LPGA, in 1996, and focused on building
her profile at much bigger events.
Since the LPGA provides more exposure than the LET does, Webb soon came in the public eye. The 37-year-old has notched up a total of 38 wins on the LPGA Tour—something that helps her eclipse
the fame of most of successful contenders.
It remains to be seen how the veteran star eclipses the existing LET giants like Spanish Carlota Ciganda and Caroline Masson of Germany. However, her past record shows that she has what it
takes to carve out victory.
