Karun Chandhok manoeuvres on a Swiss ball
The second Indian driver to ever drive in Formula 1 for a full season, Karun Chandhok, recently gave an interview in his home country manoeuvring on a Swiss ball. The Indian Formula One sensation showed his interviewers some core balancing tactics.
Karun Chandhok joined HRT this year as a rookie driver, along with his compatriot Narain Karthikeyan who joined Jordan to begin his Formula 1 career. However, Narain was not impressive at all as he was unable to perform consistently, trailing behind the
rest of the pack. Resultantly he had to start from the very end of the grid.
Nevertheless, the Indian fans still had hopes, as they took pride in seeing their drivers compete in international motorsports. 5 years later, Karun joined HRT, one of the three new teams that were introduced to the 2010 Formula 1 grid.
Karun Chandhok was expected to drive for each race in 2010 but the team decided to replace him with Christian Klien and Sakon Yamamoto. HRT had an extremely disappointing season this year as they were unable to score a single point. In fact, all the new
teams stayed pointless throughout the season.
Lotus racing team, on the other hand, outperformed both HRT and Virgin Racing Team. HRT was going through some financial crisis recently and it seems that they are still struggling to find a major sponsor for the 2011 Formula 1 season.
However, Karun Chandhok’s first interview on a Swiss ball was quite impressive. The video of his interview was recently uploaded on a website, with the Indian driver demonstrating several techniques of exercises.
HRT has not announced its drivers’ list for the 2011 Formula 1 season yet but it is expected that they might keep Bruno Senna for another season. There are chances that the team might sign Karun Chandhok for another season as the first ever Indian Grand
Prix is expected to take place next year and in order to gain some publicity and fan following from there, the team might use Karun Chandhok once again.
