Kas/Peya blows Allegro/Bohli in the opening round of doubles – Suisse Open Gstaad 2011
Seeded at number two in the tournament, the duo of Christopher Kas from Germany and Alexander Peya of Austria blasted their way through the Swiss team of Yves Allegro and Stephane Bohli in the opening round of Credit Agricole Suisse
Open Gstaad on Friday afternoon.
Being played on the clay courts of the Credit Agricole Arena in Gstaad, Switzerland, the pair of Kas and Peya wrapped up an authoritative victory in straight sets 6-0, 6-3, to make their way to the quarter-finals of the ATP (Association
of Tennis Professionals) World Tour 250 tournament. Allegro and Bohli lasted for merely 39 minutes in the matchup before surrendering to their belligerent opponents in the second set.
The Swiss pair failed to craft even a single break opportunity in the entire contest, while suffered four serve breaks from Kas and Peya. The second seeded duo was extremely efficient on winning points throughout the matchup and
secured 54 out of the total 84 points being played in the game, with Allegro and Bohli clinching just 30 points on their way to defeat.
Kas and Peya had a ballistic start in the opening set and gave absolutely no chance to their opponents to settle down in the contest. The second seeded duo launched a series of forays right away and broke Allegro and Bohli in every
single game of the opening set. Kas and Peya bagged nine out of 12 first serve points in the opener and nailed three straight serve breaks to rocket away to 6-0 in just 15 minutes of play.
After having a superb start in the opening set, Kas and Peya continued their demolition job in the following set as well and secured 15 out of 19 first serve points to keep their dominance prevailing in the game. The second seeded
duo nailed just one serve break, which proved sufficient to close out the match at 6-3, earning them a place in the quarter-finals of Suisse Open Gstaad.
Kas and Peya will play against the combination of Frederico Gil and Lukas Rosol in the next round to get through to the semi-finals of the tournament.
