Kasey Foley conquers Boys 50-yard freestyle title: 2011 High School State Championships
The 2011 High School State Championships saw the scintillating swim of Kasey Foley on Wednesday, November 2. The events of the championships were conducted in Cottonwood, California, from October 26-27. The session of the NSCIF Division II Championships
organised Boys and Girls 50-yard freestyle swimming events.
Initially, Kasey Foley won the Boys 50-yard freestyle event by beating his rivals, Holden Philbrook and Ryan Parke with a record breaking mark of 23.30 seconds. In the meantime, the second and third positions went to Philbrook and Parke with a blot of 23.42
seconds and 23.63 seconds, respectively.
Jason Taresh earned fourth place honours by hitting the finishing wall in a spot of 24.32 seconds, while Josiah Wyse picked fifth position with a mark of 24.52 seconds. In addition, Trevor Sonsteng finished sixth spot in a time of 24.87 seconds, whereas,
Ian Hunter claimed seventh position by submitting a mark of 24.95 seconds.
The eighth position went to Imrich Valach in a blot of 25.41 seconds. Kyle Atkinson earned ninth position by hitting the finishing wall in a time of 25.52 seconds, while Scott Yorton did not perform up to the expectations of his fans and settled at tenth
spot in a mark of 25.90 seconds.
Additionally, the Girls 50-yard freestyle title was clinched by Lauren Tokunaga by submitting a winning time of 27.53 seconds. Taylor Moebes finished second in a time of 27.86 seconds, while Ashlynne Neal settled at third position in a mark of 28.01 seconds.
In the meantime, Vanessa Arellano pocketed fourth place by thrashing the finishing wall in a mark of 28.36 seconds and Halle Ohlin settled at fifth place in a spot of 28.68 seconds.
Kelcey Harry earned sixth place honours by posting a time of 28.95 seconds, whereas, Kate Sjoberg settled at seventh place in 29.27 seconds. Last, but not the least, the eighth position went to Danika Martin in a mark of 30.40 seconds.
The versatile swimming performances of Kasey Foley and Lauren Tokunaga clinched the attention of Cottonwood’s arena, while the victorious athletes were awarded accolades at the session’s conclusion.
