KasperSky internet sercurity?

Question

is kaspersky a good internet securuty software? im trying to find a good one, and does it protect against adware, spyware, virus, trojans etc? also, do you have to pay yearly or somthing?? on the website if i buy the download version, it says one year. but if i buy the cd version it doesnt say anything. whats that mean?

It is rated as being at the top as far as detection rates and it has superior real-time Proactive Defense. As a Computer security expert I use it myself and highly recommend it.

It also usually get new virus definitions much early than everyone else, I have seen times where it takes the others a week to release a definition after Kaspersky.

I use it and have yet to have anything get past it, and one thing I love about it is most of the time unlike other AV's it alerts me to the presence of a virus before a download containing it even completes.

The firewall is also very good.

The payment is on a yearly basis, but it is cheaper to buy multiple years, for example their Internet Security is $79.95

a year, for two years it is only $119.95, about $20 less, three years is $159.95 or $80 less than buying it each year.

The cd is for one (1) year.

One more thing I would like to mention, unlike other AV's (like norton I know of for example), you get a free upgrade as long as you are under subscription to the newest version with the newest features, so if you bought it now, in 2009 you would get a free download for the 2009 version, with norton you would have to buy it again to get all the new improved features.
