Katarzyna Wilk secures Women’s 100m freestyle gold: Day four – Polish LC Championships
Katarzyna Wilk of AZS-AWF Katowice secured gold medal of the Women’s 100m freestyle on fourth day of the Polish Long Course Championships in Olsztyn, Poland on May 15.
Wilk remained considerably ahead of her challengers from the start of the race and with her alluring efforts, she reached the finishing end for gold medal.
Her scintillating efforts remained prominently ahead of her challengers in the second half, where she tapped the wall for gold medal by producing a time of 57.74 seconds.
The champion was followed by Karina Wlostowska of MKS “11” Jelenia Gora, who stayed nearly three strokes apart and emerged on the finishing end for silver medal by submitting an effort of 58.07 seconds.
Third spot of the discipline was obtained by Diana Sokolowska of MKS Juvenia Bialystok, who stayed only 0.01 seconds apart and tapped the finishing end with the timing of 58.08 seconds.
The bronze medallist was followed by Sonia Wiechec of Korner Zielona Gora, who stayed nearly 0.09 seconds apart and transpired on the finishing end for fourth position by submitting a time of 58.17 seconds.
Similarly, Wiechec was chased by Katarzyna Staszkiewicz of WKS"Śląsk"Wrocław, who stayed 0.23 seconds behind her foregoing finisher and surfaced on the finishing blockade as fifth position holder with the timing of 58.40 seconds.
Sixth position of the event was trailed by Anna Kawecka of AZS-AGH Krakow, who was just a touch slower from her former finisher and settled on the finishing wall by reporting a time of 58.44 seconds.
Kawecka was chased by Aleksandra Urbanczyk of MKS “Trojka” Lodz, who stayed 0.30 seconds away and appeared on the finishing end by touching the wall with the timing of 58.74 seconds for seventh position.
Eighth position of the discipline was gained by Paulina SWR Zelazna and Katarzyna Ptasinska, who failed to overpower each other on the finishing wall and ended in a joint finish by posting a time of 58.82 seconds.
The position holders received awards and accolades for their notable efforts at the prize distribution ceremony of the championship while the session ended after the completion of all listed events.
