Question:

Kate's death on NCIS?

I recently began watching NCIS on complete season DVD.

I watched Kate's death and went immediately through the two "Kill Ari" episodes--culminating in the various goodbyes at the funeral in Indiana.

I am old enough and mature enough to have dealt with REAL real life tragedies.

I know that Kate is a fictitious character--whose real life actress is alive and well.

Can someone please explain to me why I feel honest grief?

  1. Kate is the one who was all buddy buddy with tony and there was some kind of disease outbreak? and she like stayed with him... she got shot yeah??

that was so long ago, i can't even remember.

You feel honest grief because you connected on some level with the character. Its the same reason why people cry and laugh because they watch and observe the character. some begin to almost live vicariously through them, which means feeling what they feel. This is why a lot of people love books. And others view characters almost as their friends. They spend alot of time together. It makes sense

Don't worry, its human nature, we all do it. Im suprised you haven't felt emotional connected to other shows before...

i love ncis, and i have no idea what is in store, i wonder if there will be a new team... hope you catch up soon!

  2. shes a good actress huh?

i felt the same exact way!

  3. Don't worry man.

Sure, Kate was the hottie on NCIS, and I loved her 'good opinion' of Dinozo. But the had to get rid of her to make room for Zeva. Get over it and watch the new series.

  4. dude...i cry when i watch sad episodes of scrubs...thats because to me they feel so real. that is the sign of a good show. im very connected to scrubs and NCIS and Psych like that.
