Kateirn Savard claims Women’s 200m butterfly title in Toronto: 2011 Canada Cup
Katerin Savard clinched gold medal in the butterfly final heat on the second evening session of the 2011 Canada Cup, in Toronto, Ontario, on Saturday, November 26.
Katerin went on to win the Women’s 200m butterfly title of the platform by claiming the finishing blockade in a triumphant mark of 2 minutes and 09.40 seconds. Meanwhile, Lindsay Delmar earned silver title in the respective race by banging the finishing
divider in an impressive mark of 2 minutes and 13.77 seconds and the bronze title went to Vaness Charron in 2 minutes and 15.46 seconds, respectively.
In the meantime, Terri Benison of Dal Tigers went on to claim fourth position in the respective meet by thumping the finishing barricade in a time of 2 minutes and 16.60 seconds and the fifth place honour went to Kendr Chernoff in a mark of 2 minutes and
17.44 seconds.
Erin Miller got sixth position by banging the finishing blockade in a time of 2 minutes and 18.93 seconds, whereas, Al Harricharan finished seventh by clicking the finishing barrier in a time of 2 minutes and 21.57 seconds. Last, but not the least, the eighth
place went to Olivia Feschuk in a time of 2 minutes and 23.46 seconds.
On the other hand, the Men’s 200m butterfly crown was snatched by Zack Chetrat in a scintillating blot of 2 minutes and 00.62 seconds. David Sharpe of Dal Tigers went on to win the silver medal in the respective splash by thrashing the finishing wall in
a time of 2 minutes and 02.00 seconds, while the bronze title went to Mack Darragh in a mark of 2 minutes and 02.32 seconds.
In addition, David Dimitrov earned fourth place honour in the respective swim by thumping the finishing barrier in a time of 2 minutes and 03.65 seconds, whereas, the fifth spot went to Andr Marc Ruel in 2 minutes and 06.30 seconds.
Edward Liu also put up her best swim in the respective splash and grabbed sixth place honour by bashing the finishing barricade in an impressive blot of 2 minutes and 06.47 seconds. Tim Ruse claimed seventh spot by banging the finishing blockade in a mark
of 2 minutes and 07.20 seconds.
Finally, Jonathan Gagne of Pointe Claire earned eighth place honour in the final match by claiming the finishing wall in a time of 2 minutes and 12.18 seconds. Due to their versatile swims, Katerin Savard and Zack Chetrat were awarded gold titles after the
day’s conclusion. The 2011 Canada Cup is providing an excellent opportunity to all swimmers of Canada to prepare themselves better for their upcoming meets.
