Katherine Hull ready to atone for lapses in the upcoming event
Australian Katherine Hull, who is proud of her solid profile on the LPGA (Ladies professional Golf Association) Tour, has fallen to the 50th position in the Women’s World Golf Rankings.
Hull has been a star performer on the LPGA Tour, as she has been giving a tough time to her rivals since turning professional in 2003.
The Australian star has grabbed two victories on the LPGA Tour so far, and is seeking to add more shine to her profile. In addition to proving her mettle on the big Tour, the 30-year-old golfer has gained reputation on the other Tours as well.
Since Hull belongs to Australia, she has been mostly attached with ALPGA, and has recorded six victories so far. Moreover, she has also grabbed one title on the LET (Ladies European Tour).
Now that she has fallen one spot in the world rankings, it has become increasingly crucial for her to take her game more seriously. The LPGA titan has shown in the past that she has what it takes to remain firm in difficult situations, and she is expected to atone for her lapses.
Analysts said that the main reason behind a decrease in Hull’s ranking is her performance at the US Women’s Open 2012. She could not hold her nerve at the third major championship of the 2012 season and made plenty of mistakes on the course.
Hull posted an unimpressive 305 to finish tied for the 57th position on the leaderboard. Although high in spirits, the field of the US Women’s Open 2012 featured big names like current world number one Yani Tseng, Paula Creamer, Ai Miyazato, Mika Miyazato, Shanshan Feng, Na Yeon Choi and others.
Commentators said that the Aussie star seems to be confident despite having failed to record any victory since the start of the current season.
They said the strong field at the major championship might have put her off the track, but she is determined to regain her lost glory.
In one of her interviews, Hull said that she has been working hard with her coach, who has been pretty helpful so far.
“My coach and I sat down at the start of the year and figured it would take a few months just to get some momentum because we were kind of ironing out some things with my game”.
