Katherine Hull ready to make a comeback in the 2012 season
Katherine Hull has decided to put her grim past behind and she appears to have set her sight on events in the 2012 LPGA (Ladies Professional Golf Association) season.
Katherine was happy with her performance on the course a few months back. She forged ahead with consistency and won Navistar LPGA Classic in late 2010.
The Aussie star was not complacent with her form, as she was trying to forge ahead on the back of consistency.
However, the year 2011 proved to be the worst season for her, as she found herself in trouble due to personal issues.
Hull said in one of her interviews that she was happy with what she had been doing on the course and LPGA big events were her target. However, an unexpected situation took a toll on her phenomenal performance.
The LPGA Tour always held an appeal for the Aussie. She was ranked 12th in the world golf rankings at one point.
After she got off the victory track, her game deteriorated and she saw her ranking tumble. Having played 18 LPGA events, her performance was not commendable. She finished inside the top in only one event.
As far as prize money goes, Hull was just as bad. She pocketed 137,000, considerably lower than what she earned last year.
Hull’s slumping performance was noticed by many, something she conceded in one of her interviews.
Even her caddie Vern Tess was worried about her fading hope on the course. Tess advised her to take some time off in order to rest her mind and body.
Although Hull said that she did not expect her bagman to recommend a break from the sport. However, she said, deep down, she also believed that her mind was not in a fit state after battling a host personal issues.
"In March,'' Hull shared, ''we were at the Founders Cup [won by Karrie Webb] and Vern said to me, 'Kat, why don't you just take the rest of the year off and go home'. You know it's going to be a rough ride when your caddie says that to you in March”.
Hull said she did not like taking time off but it had to happen and there was no choice.
“When you struggle off the course, it's really hard to get motivated to even practise and play. Mentally, I wasn't even on the planet” she stated.
However, for the year ahead, she appears to be hopeful to regain her form and put up some brilliant performances on the course.
