Katherine Hull to show up at Mobile Bay LPGA Classic with big goals in mind
Katherine Hull has said that she is ready to give a tough time to her rivals at the Mobile Bay LPGA Classic, scheduled to be held from April 26-29, at Magnolia Grove’s Crossings Course.
Hull, an Aussie pro golfer, has been seeking to record a victory since the start of the 2012 season, as her last triumph was registered at the 2011 Mount Broughton Classic — an ALPG event.
She has been struggling to regain her momentum, but has not been able to record the much-needed win due to unclear goals.
Speaking to the media about her unpredictable form, the Aussie star said that she had been seeking to revamp her game, but was troubled due to playing without any direction.
She said that in order to keep her focus on the game, she has now decided to take pro golf more seriously than ever before.
Hull conceded that she has been a bit skeptical as to what could be done for goal-setting, but was keen to point out that the recent events helped her put everything in order.
Observers said that despite having good work ethic and plenty of potential, Hull had been missing out on opportunities, which put a drag on her performance.
Hull has been an avid golfer since her childhood. Playing on the course at the age of 12, the 30-year-old proved her mettle at college and amateur golf — something she has always been proud of.
In her opinion, she realizes that she worked hard at her junior level, but seeing her skills go from bad to worse was a bit of a shock to her.
"I was surprised at how long it took me to start setting goals again and really challenge myself," Hull said in a recent telephone interview with the Press-Register.
"I'd say the first four or five years I really accepted mediocrity and didn't have any challenges in golf. For someone who was really driven in junior golf and college golf, which was really surprising".
Despite faltering in recent events, Hull performed surprisingly well in the first major event of the 2012 season — Kraft Nabisco Championship. She kicked the round with plenty of confidence, as she carded a 69 in the first round.
