Kathleen Hersey and Nick D’Arcy dominate at the Santa Clara International Invitational 2011
Several amazing performances were seen in Santa Clara, where swimmers like Kathleen Hersey, Nick D’Arcy, Eric Shanteau, Emily Seebohm and Meagan Nay claimed golden crowns in their respective events at the 2011 Santa Clara International Invitational meet
in California, USA, on June 19.
In the initial race, Kathleen Hersey of Longhorn took home the Women’s 200m butterfly crown with a winning time of 2 minutes and 06.89 seconds and improved to 7th spot in the world rankings.
Capturing second spot in the respective race was Stephanie Rice of Australia with a time of 2 minutes and 07.54 seconds for her 10th spot in the world rankings, while Elaine Breeden of Stanford was placed third in 2 minutes and 08.14 seconds.
In the Men’s 200m butterfly race, Nick D’Arcy of Australia claimed golden crown with a sterling time of 1 minute and 55.39 seconds, while Michael Phelps of NBAC wound up second in a time of 1 minute and 55.40 seconds. Bobby Bollier of Stanford settled third
in 1 minute and 57.92 seconds.
In another exciting event, Eric Shanteau of Trojan won the Men’s 100m breast-stroke race with a winning time of 1 minute and 01.54 seconds. Brendan Hansen of Longhorn wound up second in 1 minute and 01.66 seconds and Mike Alexandrov of Trojan was placed
third after she touched the finishing blockade in a time of 1 minute and 02.05 seconds.

Emily Seebohm of Australia snatched the Women’s 100m back-stroke crown with a genuine time of 59.77 seconds and moved into 5th spot in the world rankings. Aya Terakawa retains the number one spot in the respective meet with a record time of 59.17
seconds, while Anastasia Zueva grabs second position in a time of 59.35 seconds in the world rankings. Meanwhile, Franklin took home silver in the Women’s 100m back-stroke with a time of 59.98 seconds.
Finally, Meagan Nay of Australia won the Women’s 200m back-stroke crown as touched the finishing wall and ended her swim with a stunning time of 1 minute and 00.96 seconds.
