Kathryn Hoff clinches Women’s 200m IM heat – 2011 USA Swimming Long Course Nationals
Kathryn Hoff of Fast Swim Team mesmerised the crowd on day one of the 2011 USA Swimming Long Course Nationals in competitive swimming in Paloalto, California, on Tuesday, August 2.
The session of the competition conducted the Women’s 200m Individual Medley prelims, where Hoff progressed and won the heat with a winning time of 2 minutes and 11.68 seconds.
Hoff also won the gold medals in the 4x200m freestyle relay meet at the latest edition of the 2011 World Championships, in Shanghai, China, last week. In addition, she won three gold medals at the 2005 edition of the meet, in Montreal. Furthermore, she grabbed
three gold titles at the 2007 edition of the championships, in Melbourne. Moreover, she snared one gold medal in the 400m freestyle meet at the 2010 FINA World Championships, in Dubai.
Meanwhile, Elizabeth Beisel of Bluefish Swim earned second place honours on the podium in 2 minutes and 11.85 seconds, whereas, Morgan Scroggy of Athens Bulldog wound up third in a time of 2 minutes and 13.17 seconds.
Subsequently, Julia Smit of Stanford Swimmin was placed fourth in 2 minutes and 13.33 seconds. Julia Smit’s team-mate, Madeline Dirado finished fifth in a time of 2 minutes and 13.91 seconds. In the meantime, Teresa Crippen of Germantown Acade was placed
sixth in 2 minutes and 14.69 seconds, while Whitney Myers of Fast Swim Team settled seventh in a time of 2 minutes and 14.74 seconds.
Melissa Franklin of Colorado Stars captured eighth spot with a time of 2 minutes and 14.80 seconds, while Jana Mangimelli of Swim Atlanta finished ninth in a time of 2 minutes and 15.28 seconds. Allison Brown of Pleasanton snared tenth position in 2 minutes
and 15.69 seconds. Jasmine Tosky of Palo Alto Stanfo wound up eleventh in 2 minutes and 15.74 seconds, whereas, Allysa Vavra of Indiana Universi was placed twelfth in 2 minutes and 16.06 seconds.
Melanie Margalis of Saint Petersburg finished thirteenth in 2 minutes and 16.07 seconds, while Rachel Ripley of University of Mi settled fourteenth in a time of 2 minutes and 16.24 seconds.
