Katie Compton wins the UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup Round 4 Elite Women Category
After her tremendous performance to win the USA Cycling Cyclocross National Championships earlier, Katie Compton has managed to bag her second win of the season at the UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup round 4.
She took a total time o f42 minutes and 24 seconds to wrap up a convincing victory over the in-form Sanne Van Paassen of Team Rabobank Women Cycling Team.
The 34-year-old was delighted after claiming an important victory,"I'm still leader despite this debacle, I thought she would ride it, and at the last moment she dismounted," she cited.
"Maybe I should have risked it, but my legs were full at that time. I had no more acceleration in me after that," Van Paassen said.
The Dutch finished 8 seconds behind the race leader and secured the second position with Jasmin Achermann of Team Rapha-Focus claiming the third position.
"This is fantastic. I rode my own race, but having Compton ahead of me was good. Riding faster wasn't possible because I would've blown up”.
“I work three days in a week in a bakery. Before the season I hoped to finish in the top-10 and now I'm on the podium, the first Swiss girl. I'm living my dream". 
British cyclist, Nikki Harris of Team Young Telenet-Fidea Cycling and Christel Ferrier-Bruneau of Team Hitec Products-Mistral Home Cycling occupied the fourth and the fifth positions in the respective order.
Gabriella Day of Team Rapha-Focus, Pavla Havlikova of Team Young Telenet-Fidea Cycling, Ellen Van Loy of Team Belgium, Eva Lechner of Team Colnago Sudtirol and Martina Mikulaskova of Team Czech Republic claimed the sixth, seventh, eighth, ninth and tenth
positions respectively.
Compton extended his overall lead with a total number of 230 points after the Elite Women UCI World Cup standings after round 4.
Sanne Van Paassen of Team Rabobank is 50 points behind at the second spot with Nikki Harris of Team Young Telenet-Fidea (170 points), Helen Wyman of Team Kona (148 points) and Jasmin Achermann of Team Rapha-Focus (131 points) occupying the third, fourth
and the fifth positions respectively.
Sanne Cant, Christel Ferrier-Bruneau, Lucie Chainel-Lefevre, Pavla Havlikova and Gabriella Day holds the sixth, seventh, eighth, ninth and tenth positions respectively.
