Katie Hoff wins Women’s 200m IM gold medal – 2012 GSC Summer Invitational
Katie E Hoff of T2-FL won gold medal of the Women’s 200m Individual Medley (IM) on concluding day of the 2012 Gator Swim Club Summer Invitational in Gainesville, Florida on Tuesday June 5.
The 23-year-old Hoff stayed considerably ahead of her opponents throughout the single lap discipline. With her fascinating efforts, she devastated hopes of her challengers and snared gold medal of the discipline.
Hoff demonstrated her stupendous efforts in the four-lap IM and stepped on the medal rostrum for gold medal by submitting a time of 2 minutes and 13.37 seconds.
The gold medallist was followed by Elizabeth L Beisel of ABF-FL, who remained nearly three seconds apart and sprinted her way towards the finishing wall for silver medal by reporting a time of 2 minutes and 16.38 seconds.
The silver medallist was chased by Jordan N Smith of PA-FL, who suffered a deficit of almost five seconds and made her way to the finishing blockade for bronze medal by producing a time of 2 minutes and 21.84 seconds.
Smith was trailed by Lauren E Neidigh of BSS-FL, who remained nearly one body length slower from overwhelming the bronze medallist and surfaced on the finishing wall as fourth position holder with the timing of 2 minutes and 22.67 seconds.
Fifth position of the discipline was secured by Casey L Francis of PCS-FG, who stayed 1.01 seconds behind and tapped the finishing blockade with the timing of 2 minutes and 23.68 seconds.
The 17-year-old Francis remained 0.28 seconds faster from Hannah C Burns of GSC-FL, who secured sixth position of the discipline by posting a time of 2 minutes and 23.96 seconds.
Seventh position of the discipline was secured by Sarah B Bateman of PA-FL, who remained 1.60 seconds apart and clocked 2 minutes and 25.56 seconds.
Last position of the discipline was secured by Rebecca l Rainer of NOVA-NC, who earned eighth position of the event by clocking a time of 2 minutes and 26.89 seconds.
The session ended after the conclusion of all planned events while the position holders received medals at the prize ceremony of the tournament.
