Katinka Hosszu captures Women’s 100m IM gold – 2012 Indian Ocean Meet
Katinka Hosszu of Hungary captured gold medal of the Women’s 100m Individual Medley (IM) on day two of the 2012 Indian Ocean Meet in St. Paul, Reunion, on Saturday, December 29.
The Hungarian swimmer continued her unravelling efforts on second day of the tournament and secured gold medal of the race.
With her invincible pace, she remained prominently ahead of her closest competitor and transpired on the finishing end for gold medal by producing an effort of 59.96 seconds.
The gold medallist was followed by Inge Dekker of Netherlands, who was almost four seconds slower from her and tapped the wall for second position with the timing of 1 minute and 03.09 seconds.
The second position holder was followed by Marjorie Hoareau of France, who was three and a half body length behind and touched the wall for third position with the timing of 1 minute and 06.51 seconds.
Fourth fastest spot of the event was obtained by Emma Morel of France, who stayed 0.61 seconds behind and surfaced on the finishing end by completing her race in a time of 1 minute and 07.12 seconds.
Subsequently, Morel was followed by Jade Chow s**+ Yee of France, who stayed one and a half body length behind and concluded her race in fifth place by producing a time of 1 minute and 08.59 seconds.
Sixth fastest spot of the event was obtained by Yee’s teammate, Claudie Riviere, who was only an arm-stroke behind and surfaced on the finishing end by tapping the wall with the timing of 1 minute and 08.91 seconds.
Seventh fastest spot of the discipline was obtained by Rachel Mussard of France, who stayed 0.69 seconds behind and transpired on the finishing end by producing an effort of 1 minute and 09.60 seconds.
Eighth position of the race was obtained by Solene Schwab of France, who was nearly half a body length slower from her former finisher and hit the wall with the timing of 1 minute and 10.04 seconds.
In addition, Hosszu received a huge round of applause from the audience after her victory and raked medal at the victory ceremony of the session.
