Katinka Hosszu captures Women’s 100m butterfly gold – 2012 Indian Ocean Meet
Katinka Hosszu of Hungary captured gold medal of the Women’s 100m butterfly on day one of the 2012 Indian Ocean Meet in St. Paul, Reunion, on Friday, December 28.
The Hungarian swimmer devastated hopes of her challengers in the butterfly discipline as she proved her eligibility for the crown of the race. With her notable pace, Hosszu showed no mercy to her opponents as she continued to serve notice of her talent in
the playoff.
With her impeccable pace, Hosszu remained one and a half body length ahead of her closest swimmer and touched the wall with the timing of 58.05 seconds.
The champion was followed by Inge Dekker of Netherlands, who stayed 1.38 seconds slower and tapped the wall for silver medal by producing an effort of 59.43 seconds.
Third position holder was followed by Emma Morel of France, who was prominently slower from her former finisher but managed to secure third position of the race by producing an effort of 1 minute and 02.15 seconds.
The bronze medallist was followed by Cloe Hache of France, who was only 0.26 seconds slower from her foregoing finisher and posted an effort of 1 minute and 02.41 seconds for fourth place.
Fifth position of the race was obtained by Hache’s teammate, Marjorie Hoareau, who remained 1.39 seconds slower from her former finisher and clocked an effort of 1 minute and 03.80 seconds.
Hoareau was traced by Rachel Mussard of France, who stayed nearly two body lengths behind and transpired on the finishing end for sixth place by clocking an effort of 1 minute and 06.35 seconds.
Seventh position of the race was obtained by Jade Chow s**+ Yee of France, who was 0.70 seconds behind and touched the wall with the timing of 1 minute and 07.05 seconds.
Eighth position of the event was obtained by Juniata Payet, who was unable to overpower any of her opponents and posted an effort of 1 minute and 07.46 seconds.
Furthermore, Hosszu was extremely delighted with her title claiming effort in the butterfly discipline and stressed her desire of doing the same in future events.
