Katinka Hosszu secures Women’s 100m breaststroke gold – 2012 Indian Ocean Meet
Katinka Hosszu of Hungary secured gold medal of the Women’s 100m breaststroke on opening day of the 2012 Indian Ocean Meet in St. Paul, Reunion, on Friday, December 28.
Hosszu continued her scintillating form on the first day of the tournament as she transpired on the finishing blockade for first position.
With her persistent efforts, Hosszu remained in a considerable lead over her closest swimmer and made her way towards the finishing end for gold medal with a timing of 1 minute and 10.68 seconds.
The gold medallist was followed by Geraldine Huffner of France, who was 3.10 seconds away from her and cruised her way towards the finishing end for silver medal by touching the wall with the timing of 1 minute and 13.78 seconds.
The second position holder was followed by Elodie Poo Cheong, who stayed 1.40 seconds slower from her foregoing finisher and finished third in the race by submitting a time of 1 minute and 15.18 seconds.
The third position holder was traced by Chloe Cazier of France, who stayed nearly three body lengths behind and settled on the finishing wall for fourth position by clocking an effort of 1 minute and 17.97 seconds.
Fifth fastest spot of the race was obtained by Jodie Foulquier of France, who was four body lengths behind and transpired on the finishing end by reporting an effort of 1 minute and 21.92 seconds.
Foulquier was traced by Maud Fuchs of France, who stayed 0.78 seconds slower from her foregoing finisher and transpired on the finishing end for sixth place by touching the wall with the timing of 1 minute and 22.70 seconds.
Seventh position of the race was obtained by Floriane Incana of France, who remained 3.44 seconds behind and concluded her race in a time of 1 minute and 26.14 seconds.
Last position of the race was obtained by Anne-Margaux Cadarsi of France, who was 0.46 seconds slower and touched the wall with the timing of 1 minute and 26.60 seconds.
In addition, Hosszu was contented with her title claiming effort and expressed her desire of continuing the same in future events.
