Katinka Hosszu wins Women’s 200m IM gold – 2012 Indian Ocean Meet
Katinka Hosszu of Hungary won gold medal of the Women’s 200m Individual Medley (IM) on last day of the 2012 Indian Ocean Meet in St. Paul, Reunion, on Sunday, December 30.
Hosszu demonstrated her astonishing efforts in the 200m discipline and proved her eligibility for the crown.
With her unrelenting efforts, she enjoyed a comfortable lead over her following swimmer and stepped on the victory stand for gold medal with a timing of 2 minutes and 10.79 seconds.
The gold medallist was followed by Mathilde Hoareau of France, who stayed almost 13 seconds behind and surfaced on the finishing end for silver medal by touching the wall with the timing of 2 minutes and 23.01 seconds.
The second position holder was followed by Elodie Poo Cheong, who stayed one second apart and transpired on the finishing end for bronze medal by touching the wall with the timing of 2 minutes and 24.01 seconds.
The third position holder was chased by Claudie Riviere of France, who was 0.44 seconds slower from her foregoing finisher and surfaced on the wall for fourth position by producing an effort of 2 minutes and 24.45 seconds.
Fifth position of the event was obtained by Lea Casalini of France, who was almost six seconds slower and touched the wall with an effort of 2 minutes and 30.26 seconds.
Riviere was chased by Rachel Mussard of France, who was 0.85 seconds slower from her former finisher and transpired on the finishing end for sixth place by producing an effort of 2 minutes and 31.16 seconds.
Seventh position of the race was obtained by Aina-Estellah Fils Rabetsara, who was 0.53 seconds slower from her former finisher and touched the wall with an effort of 2 minutes and 31.69 seconds.
Fils was followed by Celine Le Gouareguer of France, who stayed prominently slower from her foregoing finisher and touched the wall with the timing of 2 minutes and 34.42 seconds.
Furthermore, the arena applauded for notable forms of all participants while the position holders received medals and accolades for their gruelling efforts at the victory ceremony of the tournament.
