The former German star, Hans-Georg, was asked whether Lionel Messi is the best of all-time, but he refused to call him the best, stating that there were many equal to him during their time.
Recently, while speaking about how people believe that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lionel-Messi-c22296 is an all-time best player, the former German star, Hans-Georg, said that nothing can be said about the Argentine being one of the greatest ever.
His claims were that the even though Messi has been scoring a lot of goals, the maximum that one can call him is ‘one’ of the best in history, and not ‘the’ best in history.
While speaking about the Argentinean maestro, ‘Katsche’ said:
“Is Messi the best of all time? Bah, you cannot generalise. We cannot say ‘of all time’. Football has been played not only in the late 20th century and early 21st century. At all times there have been great players that seemed insurmountable for what they
did with the ball at their feet.”
“In 1960, 1970, 1980, 1990… There were always big players, greats, whilst now is the time of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Cristiano-Ronaldo-c9629 too.”
“But not only are the best players in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Germany-c2904 we also have top players. But, Messi is undoubtedly one of the greatest in history whilst in his day so too were Pele, Beckenbauer, Cruyff, Eusebio, Di Stefano…”
“I could name many more. All generations have their stars, and Messi is today’s.”
There is no doubt that there have been many phenomenal players in the past and comparing them to Messi would be unfair to them. Players with the likes of Zinedine Zidane, Ronaldinho, Rivaldo, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Diego-Maradona-c11160, Johan Cruyff, and others; these
players have done things which other players can only dream of achieving.
However, what Lionel Messi is about to accomplish is also something that not all the players can achieve and something that many can only dream of doing.
The Argentinean skipper has a month to score three goals in order to reach the mark which has been set by the German star, Gerd Muller. Currently, Messi has scored 82 goals in the 2012 calendar year while Muller scored 85 back in his time.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 will be playing Athletic Bilbao in the Spanish La Liga and a hat-trick against the mid-table side would mean that Messi has equalled Muller’s goal-scoring tally of 85 in a single year.
