so my family is going on a kauai trip and they're all 20 yrs old.. im 17 and we plan on going skydiving, and its 18 .. am i SOL or is there anyway around that?? ill be sooo bummed if i miss out :\

If you are 17 and the minimum age is 18, then you're SOL.  The only way you might have a chance would be if your parents sign a notarized letter saying that you have their permission to go skydiving and they release the company (make sure it says the companies name in the letter) from any liability (just in case something happens to you).

    The reason why the age limit is there is because you have to sign a release from liability when you sign up to jump saying that if anything happens to you (i.e. injury or death) that you cannot sue the company.  As a 17, you are still legally a minor and do not have the right to sign any legal papers by yourself.
