Kaushal Dharmamer punishes Sai Tanuj M. in first round of 2011 All India Junior Ranking Tournament
Kaushal Dharmamer proved his worth by delivering a super performance on the opening day of the event, as he crushed Sai Tanuj M. in the Boy’s Singles U-17 first round battle of the 2011 All India Junior Ranking Tournament, in Chandigarh, India, on October
5.
This straight-set battle showed that India has a rich pool of talented shuttlers in the junior category as both shuttlers displayed their tremendous skills. The match lasted for just 26 minutes and Kaushal emerged as the winner after putting up a phenomenal
show of attacking badminton.
In the first set, both players remained positive and composed to avoid unforced errors and progressed with equal pace in the starting points. They were showing patience by waiting for the right opportunity to bury the bird down in their opponent’s court.
Kaushal then accelerated the pace of the rallies and occupied the driving seat as he took a wonderful 11-6 lead until the break.
In the second-half, the sixth seed Kaushal played a fast game to level the score but his rival was in a different mood. He played wonderful smashes followed by strong pushes and net killings. His attacking style of play kept his challenger under pressure
and helped him to win the first game in 11 minutes by a surprising margin of 21-8.
In the second game, Sai Tanuj tried to establish a good lead in the opening points but his rival was playing on a different level. He played remarkable badminton and established his hold in the opening half by creating a difference of 11-9.
After taking rest for 60 seconds, Sai Tanuj employed all of his skills to return the bird effectively but failed as his opponent was not making any error in the selection and execution of strokes. Kaushal’s jumping smashes were hitting the side lines of
the court, showing his wonderful accuracy.
Kaushal played a fast game in the whole set and maintained his complete control over the pace of the rallies. His planned and positive play won him the second set in just 15 minutes with a 21-17 score on the board. The end result of this Boy’s Singles 26-minute
contest was 21-8 and 21-17.
