Kauto Star’s rating of 195 has been dropped 2lb by BHA head of handicapping Phil Smith. He says that: “ Straight after the race I put Barbers Shop up from 156 to 158 because I had to drop Nacarat [fourth] and I didn't want Nacarat to be giving Barbers Shop weight. The more I looked at the race again I thought it would be unfair on Barbers Shop to put him up 2lb for being beaten a distance, so I moved Barbers Shop back to 156, which is the mark I had him running to in the Hennessy at Newbury. As soon as I moved him back 2lb, I dropped the whole level of the race 2lb."
