Kawhi Leonard, Kemba Walker - Six potential players on Toronto Raptor’s Radar: NBA Draft (Part-2)
Small Forward Kawhi Leonard, 6 ft 7 in
San Diego State’s small forward Kawhi Leonard is an excellent rebounder and a very athletic wing player having a huge physique. Even though the offensive play for the 19-year-old superstar is still developing however Leonard carries
a grand leaping ability and his size and agility are huge domination factors offensively.
The Toronto Raptors are one of the weakest sides when it comes to toughness and rebounding. With the addition of Kawhi, the franchise can improve on both departments and fill the gaping hole at small forward.
Leonard’s rebounding and toughness won’t be lost with the team who are desperate to acquire a player with those qualities. In fact the youthful star will improve on the defence and offence as he matures.
Centre Jonas Valanciunas, 6 ft 10 in
19 year-old Jonas Valanciunas is incredibly instrumental on the defensive end. As a result of his gigantic physique, Valanciunas is a very effective shot blocker and holds the capability to rebound the ball impressively. Jonas
also plays as power forward which means that he can be effective on both ends of the court.
The 6 ft 10 in can be a fruitful option for the Raptors. He is capable to do just about everything for the team. Jonas can power Toronto to stimulate a sturdy defence and at the same time can keep the score board ticking.
Point Guard Kemba Walker, 6 ft 1 in
Connecticut’s Kemba Walker might not be one of the biggest men in the league however he is just plain explosive when the point guard is driving to the rim. He is incredibly quick and can become a major double-double threat as he
progress his career with NBA. Walkers’ jump shots have improved to a greater extent and he can only get better with his jumpers. Talking about his defensive play, he carries a considerable average for steals.
Kemba might be undersized however his game-play doesn’t give too many chances to the big players to come in his way. Considering the offence, Walker is the Number 1 option for the Toronto Raptors who can fire up team’s defence
as well. Now it’s up to the franchise to decide that whether Kemba is the right man for the squad.
Point Guard Brandon Knight, 6 ft 3 in
Last but not the least, Kentucky’s point guard Brandon Knight is just a complete package. Knight can score impressively, pass effectively and defend aggressively and on top of that he is a very smart player with great athleticism.
Considering Brandon’s versatile domination, the 19-year-old star lacks a little spark from beyond the arc which will definitely improve as he matures. By drafting Knight, the Toronto Raptors will have the option to trade Jose
Calderon who is no longer a part of future Raptors.
If the franchise wants to infuse some star power at the point guard position, Brandon is the right man for the job who can pair up with the prolific DeMar DeRozan to become the leaders for the youthful Raptors.
