Kayacking/ canoeing in toronto or toronto island?

I am going to toronto in mid august on vacation...Where can i rent kayack or canoe either near toronto or close to toronto island? I only have access to public transportation. What would be the best place, where is it,and how much will it cost? Any help will be greatly appreciated!! Ten points to best answer...for a little incentive.
