Kayak Selection?

Question

I am looking to get a new kayak to travel some of the lakes and light rivers around me, I also take yearly trips to the west coast and would love to be able to put in and do a little ocean kayaking. I am thinking a sit-in kayak but wouldn't be opposed to a sit-on. Also a rudder option and the ability to attach a sail at some point would be great. Any suggestions?
