Kayak question????

Question

I want to purchase a kayak that is not to expensive, no more than 4 or 5 hundred. I want to get a kayak to build muscle and use it as a hobby. I live close to an ocean, bay, lakes, and rivers so i probaly will want to try it out in all those waters. I need help finding a kayak that would best fit me. As far as single or double it can be either becuase I mite go in on it with my brother

Good answers. Suggestion: Join a local boating club. Attend a kayak school. Safety rules tell that you need to kayak with at least two others.

if you want to buy a kayak  i suggest looking on ebay for a touring kayak if you want to have a nice paddle around or if you want to build muscle. i suggest joining a club and learning how because if your on your own and u capsize or dislocate your sholder(very easy kayaking) help may not be able to find you

Your going to have a hard time finding a touring (sea) kayak, even a used one, for $400 or $500. Check with local kayaking stores they will often have used boats for sale, and may hold or know of gear swaps where you can get a cheap boat. The other option is to just buy a general recreation kayak, they are lower quality and cheaper, but built to be OK at most stuff.
