Question:

Kayaking alone?

I know it's better to go with a friend, but I don't know any girls that do it. I know guys, but my husband wouldn't like that. I get tired of forcing him to go and hearing him complain about it. Does anyone have experience with kayaking alone?

  1. I used to kayak alone all the time.  Just make sure you're in relatively safe conditions.  No stupid-silly fast rapids, go somewhere you're familiar with, etc.

  2. your hubbie should get over it.

  3. I know it can be done, but always follow safety precautions of leaving someone with your route, estimated return time, and carry a cell phone (in a plastic zippy bag) for safety

  4. Surprisingly I think if you asked some of your girlfriends to go- they might want to go! (I know I'd want to go!)

But if all else fails and you do have to go alone then I'd suggest having a person who y ou contact through out the day so they know you're ok! I'd get some kind of water proof bag and try to keep your phone on you at all times just in case some kind of trouble comes along! Always think saftey first!!

  5. google kayaking clubs see if there are any clubs in your area you could join. if you think your hubby would go for that. I'm a girl I kayak! I'll go with you! only I sold my kayak for Christmas cash. Don't go alone something could happen to you and no one would be there to help you.  Kayaking can easily be dangerous one minute your fine next minute your fighting for your life to get another breath of air.  If you absolutely want to go alone find a short route with no rapids no white water rafting stuff and be safe because no one will be there to help you if something goes wrong.  Be careful be safe good luck!
