I am going away kayaking for three days and need easy foods to eat without having to cook. We want to eat healthy but have no desire to bring a cook stove. Any suggestions.

  1. done it. you need light, un-perishable food. power-bars, or some other psuedo candy bar like that. freezed dried meals are the best, but if you don't want to have to boil water, forget them. You need light, filling things with a ton of calories. Get as many bars as you can carry in the hold.

  2. As much as you'll be working while on the kayak you will definitely need plenty of protein. Any kind of jerky is a good start, as it won't spoil, does'nt take up much space or weigh much. Nuts or trail mix and granola are always good. Some of the dehydrated foods nowadays are actually really good. You'll only need to bring some water to a boil over a campfire. Oatmeal if you make sure you have a pot. Canned beans or fruits and veg.So long as you aren't weighed down with food it should be good.

  3. We usually take alot of deli sandwich's/meat on our trips, You can keep them in a cooler and they are really healthy so you wont feel bad after eating, also I would suggest getting some Lays or Pringles chips that come in the tube, you can put them in a waterproof bag and throw them in your kayak easly, bottles of water are always the best because even when they get warmer you can still drink them. You might want to also load up on some apples or bananas to snack on,they stay fresh a couple of days and are very healthy.
